Port 80 Security
SCS offers the industry’s first security appliance to provide
critical security for Web protocols and Port 80 content. Based on a
secure operating system, SCS offers the ideal choice for protecting
Internet applications such as: Web browsing; Instant Messenger; Peer
to Peer sharing; Web based email such as Yahoo, and rich multimedia
content. The use of these Web applications exposes the organization
to new security threats from Web viruses, hostile mobile code and
inappropriate content, all of which use HTTP (Port 80) as an “open
door” into the network.
Web Virus Scanning:
“Scan once, serve many” model allows real-time scanning and
scalability with existing virus server solutions. ICAP (Internet
Content Adaptation Protocol) support allows for scanning of
Web-based viruses delivered over HTTP and FTP through integration
with leading anti-virus solutions.
Content Security:
Parses inbound Web and multimedia content and strips out malicious
mobile code and active content invisible to other security devices.
Content Filtering:
Integrated URL filtering enables IT staff to prevent users from
accessing inappropriate content.
Proxy Server:
High-performance, scalable replacement for existing proxy servers.
Intelligent Caching of Web Content:
Proxy caching technology ensures intelligent caching of content
including content requiring authentication at origin servers
Streaming Bandwidth Control:
Allows organizations to define limits for the total amount of
network capacity available for streaming media as well as the
maximum streaming
bandwidth individual users can request. Multimedia streaming types
supported include:
- Real Networks
- Microsoft Windows Media
- Apple QuickTime
- MP3
- Flash.
Content Transformation:
Limit or strip and replace what information is available in content
headers so that information about the corporate network isn’t
available on the Internet.
Denial of Service Attack Resistance:
Distinguishes between valid and malicious connections to continue
servicing legitimate users while resisting DOS attacks
Alternative Caching Configurations
Caching can also be rolled out invisibly in the network which helps with networks where caching is not designed to be a point of failure.
Web Content Caching Protocol (WCCP):
A redirection is placed in the router and/or switch in order to cache content invisibly without affecting the network, or becoming a point of failure within the network.
